Facts
The original Pro Skater and its sequel released in 1999 and 2000 respectively. They featured multiplayer modes of their own in the form of competitive games. This original feel has been retained in this new version. The original soundtrack from Activision/Kotaku is mostly retained and most of the iconic songs are back in the soundtrack. Songs from Goldfinger (which is hit song Super Man), Dead Kennedys, Papa Roach, and Rage Against the Machine are all there, along with 18 soundtracks. It is expected that 37 new artists will be making their way into the soundtrack. The expected date of release is September 4, 2020. The platforms are PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with 4K resolution supported on PS4Pro and Xbox One X. A Collector’s Edition, with a printed autograph by Tony Hawk, and limited edition full-size Birdhouse Skateboard will also be available at US$99. The game has been developed by Vicarious Visions Studio.

Vicarious Visions Studio Boss Jen Oneal confirmed to journalists that a drastic change in the gameplay was not planned for this version. This is to assist the realism incorporated in the sports activities where muscle memory plays a critical part in the progression of the game. Players will be given the choice between Classic Control Protocols or the modern scheme because analog sticks came only recently. All the original features are still on offers such as the Pro Skaters, Modes, Tricks, Levels, and Songs. All members of the Roster will own their special moves, including the new tricks. Create-A-Park and Create-A-Skater have returned, and customization is at the core. Creations can even be shared with friends. Chris Weddle created the ‘mute grab’ trick, and this is updated to continue to honor and remember the Weddle Grab. The entire original Roster of Skateboarders has been rescanned by the Developer Vicarious Visions. This is because the original Skateboarders on the Roster are now actually in their mid-40s and early 50s. There will not be any microtransactions at launch, though the final decision is still left to the fans. Gameplay will now be the final key to unlock everything.
