Cyberpunk 2077 has had a late, but welcome, resurgence with its single expansion, Phantom Liberty. For those of you who have been through the woes of the base game, you’d be happy to know that CD Projekt Red has redeemed itself by offering players a complete overhaul as well as an upgrade to the entire experience. What started as chunky, clunky update files have now reached its climax as a full-fledged update “2.0” that utterly changes the entire paradigm of Cyberpunk 2077. Literally.

Thermal Katana
The people over at CD Projekt Red have probably realized by now as well that close combat, slicey dicey gameplay is a lot more fun than ranged shooting. It’s not even the players’ fault really, what with how the game makes the entire experience so enjoyable. The thermal katana only furthers this fun by offering players a sexy blade that is on fire.
With upgraded cyberware and skills set up solely to take down chooms at point blank, the thermal katana is a perfect weapon to wield.
Sasquatch’s Hammer
Another entry into the melee weapon category. Sasquatch’s Hammer is a mammoth blunt weapon that sends enemies flying with one swing. The best part about this weapon is that it can be wielded while riding a bike and be swung to hit cars, bikes, and airborne threats. Granted it is slow and bulky but one tap of this bad boy can cause earth-shattering tremors perfect for sending foes flying. Mayhem never felt so good.
Order Shotgun
Similar in appearance to the regular tech shotgun from the base game, the Order Shotgun is anything but when it comes to mechanics. Armed with a lot more coils and wires, this shotty even has a nice garnet colorway adorning its body. It’s classified as an illegal weapon so players can only acquire it from the Black Market in Dogtown. Spend a little on this bad boy and watch your enemies fly back from the projectile impact…and explode, for good measure.
Mantis Blades
The Mantis Blades aren’t a new implant to have. They’ve been seen a fair bit in the base game but, along with many other weapons, these babies have gone through a visual as well as mechanical upgrade. V can now integrate the mantis blades into his targeting system to detect, analyze, and even lunge forward at enemies, effectively dismembering them with repeated slashes. Plus, if the player has the specific ability unlocked, they can even perform a finisher with these and have V decapitate enemy heads in a grotesque manner.
Osprey Sniper Rifle
Cyberpunk’s military-grade weaponry seldom makes it to the top ranks but the Osprey is a worthy exclusion. Sporting a very matte black, sleek, and modern look, the Osprey detaches itself from the other “punk” themed weapons we have on this list. And rightly so, because this heavy-duty killer means business. The rifle excels at dishing out long-range damage all while shooting off limbs and applying thermal damage.
Hercules Special Weapon
Styled as a grenade launcher, of sorts, the Hercules Special Weapon is one that is still to be released in-game. Nevertheless, from what we can gather from the official images shared by CD Projekt Red, it looks akin to a flamethrower or at the very least, a napalm-launching gun. Whatever the case may be, the “special” in its name is a nod toward chaos.
